Let's prevent harm and illness, rather than treat it

It's time to fund preventive approaches for male health and wellbeing. Did you know:

  • in May 2021, the Federal Government allocated $3.4B to its Women’s Budget including $535.8m for the National Women’s Health Strategy, and there was no Men’s Budget and no funding for the National Men’s Health Strategy?

  • in the 2020-21 Tasmanian Budget, the government allocated close to $6 million in programs supporting women health and wellbeing, and $665,000 on male specific programs through Men’s Sheds and accommodations for Homeless Men, and over $200 million towards prison development and upgrades?

We're calling on the Tasmanian Government to direct funding to activities and programs that work to improve male health outcomes.  For more info and details on our Vigil on 23 August 2021, visit https://mrtasmania.org/24-7
